We have implemented an unheard of program to take technology training to the areas it is needed the most. To the under served low income housing areas, to the kids who really deserve the opportunity to have access to life changing technology. We are uncovering some undiscovered geniuses, and are giving them the chance to overcome their circumstances with technology training.
We have teamed up with the Paulding County Boys and Girls Club, to teach classes 5 days a week during the summer break. In a classroom environment, we will take a hands on, fast paced approach to teaching kids about PC’s (the computers we all use every day). We will have them tear down and rebuild computer systems part by part. They will learn to use critical thinking to troubleshoot and diagnose all aspects of software and hardware. We have partnering to get the older students internships and apprenticeships with local, tech heavy companies to see if they have what it takes to launch them into a tech degree and career.
We have direct knowledge of how the teen mind works, and the limits we have in keeping their attention. We have come up with a curriculum that fully engages our students from the beginning to the end. “I’m bored” is not is heard in our class.
